Girls’ Generation has been appointed as ambassadors for the blind. In a recent fundraising campaign hosted by QTV, member Sooyoung in particular was actively involved in promoting the advocacy. Along with Sooyoung, members Taeyeon, Seohyun and Tiffany were named ambassadors at the blindness eradication headquarters in April.

Sooyoung has put up autographed items on the QTV web site for auction, which will begin on January 1, 2013, running through January 19. The proceeds of the sale will go into research on cure and prevention of visually debilitating diseases, including those that affect the retina.
